Rotators
Rotor sprinklers throw water over a far wider radius than spray sprinklers, so they are perfect for medium to large lawn areas.
They are also a good choice for slow-draining and sloped yards because they deliver water more slowly than spray heads.
Sprinkler spacing is measured by radius. The radius of a sprinkler is measured from the position of the sprinkler to the edge of the spray pattern (how far the water is thrown by the sprinkler).
This means that a sprinkler with a radius of 15' with a full nozzle will actually cover a 30' area.
Measurements
Sprinklers should always be set out for 'head-to-head' coverage.
This is where one sprinkler throws all the way to the base of the next. 'Head-to-head' coverage means that all areas in the lawn are being watered and there are no brown patches.
